love & butter

Oh! Happy day.

Today I went to The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills – quite possibly one of the only redeeming aspects of Beverly Hills – and bought four (4) HUGE blocks of Le Marin butter. One is in my freezer, one is in my refrigerator, and the other two, well, they are also in my freezer but are awaiting delivery to Conrad and Nicolette. Ah, the drought is over, the crisis averted. You can all breathe a huge sigh of relief. After this purchase (I also bought a lovely goat cheese from the south of France, some Italian crackers, and some Moutarde de Meaux Pommery, one of my most fave mustards in the universe since I was a little girl), I went off and managed to convince two other people (one a complete stranger) to go to the cheese store themselves and get some Le Marin. I am going to start a revolution here.

Also whilst at the cheese store, I befriended one of the very nice and very helpful workers (seriously, they could not have been lovelier and more friendly) who it turns out is the frommagier at a new restaurant in Los Angeles called Sona. He told me to come in some time on a Friday night, and I’ve just made plans with a friend to do so… ooh la la! Will let you all know how it turns out.

And as soon as I get some good photos of my beloved butter, I’ll be getting around to sprucing up the joint a bit.

I’m ready for the Le Marin revolution! As for Beverly Hills, there’s also a lovely hotel Johan and I stay at on Valentine’s, The Avalon (another redeeming thing that is). And as for Sona, I’m gently weeping that you made plans that didn’t involve me, you villan!
